We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director in a skilled nursing facility in Hayesville, North Carolina.
This is a part-time leadership opportunity (2 days per week) offering clinical autonomy, flexible weekday scheduling, and the ability to shape high-quality post-acute care delivery in a collaborative environment.
Position Overview
- Part-time Medical Director role (2 days/week)
- Flexible weekday rounding schedule
- No primary night call
- Direct patient care combined with clinical oversight
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and facility leadership
- Mentorship of advanced practice clinicians
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform primary care rounding for post-acute and long-term patients
- Diagnose and manage complex chronic and acute conditions
- Conduct clinical reviews and guide APPs
- Develop treatment plans aligned with patient-centered goals
- Support quality improvement and regulatory initiatives
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual compensation: $138,324 – $159,028 (productivity-based; uncapped)

Requirements
- MD or DO – Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Minimum 1 year of primary care experience
- Post-acute care experience preferred
- Active or in-process North Carolina medical license
- Active or in-process DEA registration
